MB BASEBALL LOSES IN EXTRAS

A walk-off left Myrtle Beach Varsity Seahawks on the wrong end of a 7-6 defeat to Aynor on Friday. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the eighth when Dukes was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Myrtle Beach Varsity Seahawks fell despite leading 6-2 in the fifth. A walk by Mays put Myrtle Beach Varsity Seahawks on the board in the top of the first. A single by Brown gave Aynor the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first. Delfin hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Myrtle Beach Varsity Seahawks tie the game at two in the top of the second. Myrtle Beach Varsity Seahawks captured the lead, 6-2, in the top of the fifth after Trembley singled to center field, Bolick walked, Moran grounded out, and Cooksey singled, each scoring one run. Aynor tied the game in the bottom of the seventh thanks to an error, and a single by Brown. Dukes earned the win for Aynor. The hurler allowed three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Bolick stepped on the bump first for Myrtle Beach Varsity Seahawks. The starter gave up six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out one and walking one. Cook opened the game for Aynor. The starter surrendered one hit and two runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking three. Cooksey and Delfin each collected two hits for Myrtle Beach Varsity Seahawks. Bolick, Cooksey, Delfin, Moran, and Trembley each drove in one run for Myrtle Beach Varsity Seahawks.
