The Myrtle Beach Boys hosted Ashley Ridge, the defending Class 5A Division 1 runners-up on Friday night at Market Common. The Seahawks came out strong, with first half goals by junior Evry Yakoel, senior Kiki Ott, and sophomore Joel Watson. They went into the halftime break leading 3-1. But the Swamp Foxes came out of the break strong, and cut the deficit to 3-2 with about 20 minutes remaining. The Hawks defense held strong, as did goalkeeper Matthew Terrazas to secure the win. This gives MB six in a row, heading into spring Break. The Hawks will host non-conference opponents Gaffney and Brookland Cayce over the break. Myrtle Beach improves to 11-2 on the season.
